Laura Molina (Gijón, 1976) has obtained the degree in Fine Arts in Photography. Actually she is a Phd researcher in the University Complutense of Madrid.

Her subject of the research is to realise a theoretical study of the concept of "pictorial" in contemporary photography.

Today, the most creative use of photographic language is the use of digital media aiming to reach the most diverse visual manifestations, as well as to introduce new possibilities of perception.

Her proposal is to rethink the notion of "plasticity" in photography, from a comparison of photographic material and techniques with those used in other fields of art.

"My aim is to promote a dialogue with the semantic field of photography, aesthetic purposes and approaches other iconographic own gear, but were adequate to show photographic language. It is a comparative approach, looking for the deep connection between pictorial representation and photographic issue.

Many contemporary artists who use digital technology demonstrate explicitly that the photo is actually itself a "construction". The picture is not only free of its dependence of a supposed "documentary value", but as worthy of a purely visual assessment."

She is in the Academy of the Arts in Bergen where she is also working in her personal photography projects.
