Tatiana Alieva received her M. Sc. degree in physics from M. V. Lomonosov Moscow State University, Russia, in 1983 and Ph.D. degree in physics from the Autonomous University of Madrid, Spain, in 1996. From 1983 until 1999, she was with the Radiotechnical Institute, Academy of Science, Moscow. She spent several years as a postdoctoral fellow at the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium, and the Eindhoven University of Technology, the Netherlands. Currently, she is a a professor of physics at the Faculty of Physics, Complutense University of Madrid (Spain).
Prof. Alieva has worked in diverse fields of physics such as theory of high energetic beams channelling in crystals, wave scattering in the ionosphere, theory of linear canonical transforms and their applications in optics and signal processing. Her current research interests include phase space optics, beam design and characterization, digital holography and phase imaging.
Prof. Alieva is the author and co-author of more than 180 scientific publications in books, international journals and conference proceedings. She also participated and was a coordinator of various interactive textbooks on optical information processing, holography, ray, wave and statistical optics. From 2009 till 2012 she was a member of the Editor Board of the Journal SPIE Reviews. Actually she is an associate editor of Optics Express. She is a member of the Optical Society of America, European Optical Society and Spanish Optical Society.
